Battleship

When you see something like Battleship, you just know that Michael Bay is somehow involved. In this case he is not directly involved, but they probably asked for his advice, when they were creating the mayhem. I would not be surprised.

Battleship is based on a board game called, well Battleship. Both are Hasbro properties. But who the hell came up with idea of putting aliens in the movie.

Battleship is silly, stupid, sometimes idiotic and often kind of cool.

Director Peter Berg is already familiar with action movies. His more recent work includes Hancock.

Battleship is the second mega budget blockbuster, 200 million dollar movie this year, that stars Taylor Kitsch. I am not saying he's a bad actor, just that he is being used a lot.

Battleship tells a story of U.S marines, who, while on naval exercises encounter aliens and must save  The Earth. Have we seen anything like this before?  I think so.

I'm not saying that Battleship is a bad movie, but it is mostly a mediocre movie.

To be honest it's also funnier than I thought it was going to be. And at the same time Battleship is just stupid. I just laughed most of the time.

I can see where they put the 200 million dollars. Is anyone going to guess?  Of course they spent that money on special effects. I doubt anyone really thought about the dialog and story. Oh and by the way Rihanna is in this movie. Here is one of Rihanna's lines from the movie: "Boom."

Nah, who really cares about the dialog. All that really matters here is action. We go to see a movie like Battleship for the action. And there is a lot of action here. The mayhem reaches an almost Transformers level. Almost, because you really can't top Transformers, when it comes to destruction and carnage.

The alien ships resemble Transformers. And those huge flying balls, look like they were created by Michael Bay himself.

The soundtrack features a lot of metal, which I don't really like, but it suits the movie.

It is starting to bother me that they have to put Liam Neeson everywhere. Seriously it' already like his third movie this year. Give me a break.

I recommend Battleship to those who have  nothing else to do. This is pure popcorn fun, with awesome special effects, cheesy dialog and not the greatest story. Go see Battleship if you want to shut yourself off.
