The Dark knight rises

Here is a litte challenge for you: beat this movie

Thank god, that there are still people like Christopher Nolan. People who won't screw up their movies with 3D.
Next to The Avengers, The Dark knight rises is probably the most anticipated movie of the year and it's finally here! I doubt it was easy but Nolan has done the impossible. He has created a perfect trilogy, that comes to and end with one of the year's best films: The Dark knight rises.

8 years have passed since The Dark knight took place and in that time The Batman has not been seen once. But when a new super criminal known as Bane threatens Gotham, Batman must again show his face and set things right.

Let's start with the movie's runtime. The Dark knight rises is a really long movie. 2 hours and 45 minutes. Then again I think that it could have been even longer and that wouldn't have bothered me.

I'm gonna say it right now. I'm really not a big Batman fan. So I didn't get my hopes up very high. And the end result? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I think that The Dark knight rises is Nolan's greatest Batman movie as well as a perfect ending to one of the greatest trilogies of all time.

The Dark knight rises best elements are it's complexity and a certain secrecy that is always there. And there is no shortage of both. The movie is not too complicated but I was a little confused at the beginning, probably because the film has a really fast pace.
The secrecy ( there is a lot of it)  never bothers and believe me when I say that the less you know about the movie the better.

The Dark knight rises is a total " Inception" reunion. We've got  Joseph Gordon Levitt,  Marion Cotillard, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine.etc.

How shall I put this? On the story part TDKR is a really strong movie. There are a lot of characters but all of them have a backround and a purpose. I would say that  alltogether, this movie is better than The dark knight.

Part of the reason is say that is of course is beacause the movie is super awesome. I'm  trying not to compare this movie to The avengers, beacause I really like both, but if you look at it, The avengers is simple entertainment, it's a colorful and fun comicbook movie. However The Dark knight rises is dark, there is not a lot of humor and the movie is quite brutal.  Of course the violence is kept at a PG-13 level. But that's not going to stop Bane.

Nolan's Batman movies, unlike other comicbook movies, are much more realistic and a lot more brutal.

For both Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan, this is the last Batman movie and I don't imagine anyone else in the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Bale is not my favourite actor, but he is really good as both Batman and Bruce Wayne. Looking at his Batman, you get the feeling that anything is possible ( in the movie I mean).

A new character in the film is Selina Kyle, portrayed by Anne Hathaway. I was a little sceptical about that choice, but then I started thinking that if this was Nolan's choice, then it might be good. And to be honest, she is actually really good and she brings a lot of style into her role.
I haven't read The comics but I know what Bane looked like in the comics. Thankfully his look has been changed drastically and He no longer looks like a giant ape. As a villain Bane doesn't beat The Joker, but he gets close though. Bane is The man and like Selina Kyle, he is very stylish and He has a nice attitude. He is usually calm, but when you get into a fight with him, you've got a problem. Tom Hardy does a very good job. I read somewhere that people didn't like sound of Bane's voice, that he was hard to undestand because of the mask.etc. To be honest I really liked The sound of his voice, I thought He sounded good. Bane also brings a little bit of dark humor into The movie.

Besides The characters I already mentioned, There are a lot of supporting characters as well. Characters We've come to know and love and now We have to say goodbye to them all. That's sad.

Besides The strong story, there are beautiful special effects and of course it would not be a Batman movie If There Were no cool gadgets.
In The previous films, We have come to know Batman as a super-strong, almost invincible guy. Here They show that he is like any other person, They show his weak sides and thanks to that, We can see that even When He is wearing The costume, He is An ordinary person.

Christopher Nolan's sure-handed direction and Wally Pfister's cinematography should at least grant them a few Oscar nominations.

Hans Zimmer's music is sometimes spot on, escpecially in a few scenes that are focused on Bane.

If Nolan is producing and has partly written The new Superman movie, then that might turn out to be something good.

Sony Pictures new Spider-man movie was already pretty Pointless film. But The new Batman movie makes it look even worse. Next to The Dark knight rides, The Spider-man reboot seems Pointless, childish and just plain boring.

Just When I thought that I had seen The Nr 1. of The year, a little cheap movie named The Dark knight rises ( I was being sarcastic, I doubt that 250 million dollars is very cheap) came along  and changed everything. The Batman trilogy ends in a way that i could not even have dreamed of. The last 5 minutes of this movie are perfect and ensure that who ever tries to reboot this, is gonna hard time doing it. I doubt that anyone could have sent these characters off in a better way than Christopher Nolan has.

                                                                                  5/5
